Recently I have just launched typoart.com.au a HTML/CSS/jQuery based website. Focusing on customised typographical based art, this relatively small e-commerce based website is something I haven’t done for a long time which is a complete website with no flash. One of the main reasons behind this is small budget, quick turnaround and low and behold it work on iOS!!!! So I’ve had a dabble now in jQuery which I find rather cool. However don’t get me wrong flash is not dead…. but it has it’s place and for somthing like this website, there is no need. My CSS is also improving, and I think one of the most important featrue in CSS is display:

Instead of handling the transaction internally, again I have opted for Paypal. I find it extremely annoying developing for paypal using there sandbox, it so non user friendly… well the whole paypal website is good example of frustration! Next e-commerce solution I would like to try something like eWAY.
I also designed the logotype and am about to start designing all the stationary ect….

Just completed a Logo Design for a good friend over at ‘The Lighting Hospital‘ in Bath, UK. Specialising in fixing industrial lighting electronics, my logo tries to emulate/REPRAZENT lights/electronics in a fix in kind of way. My preferred chioce is the cross shape, currentlty being referred to as the ‘Cheese’ it meant to be a light beam shining over a cross, connected to it is circuitry which forms the conneting to the name. The font used is orator, a classic monospace face designed font.
The client finally decided on the ‘H’ design rather than the cross.
Which one do you prefer?

Redesign of old logo I came up with these ideas, No.1 is the closest to the original and is the one which was selected and considering the subject (Finance company…. yawn) it’s the one I prefer.

I’ve decided I it would be nice to use it Paper Vision 3D in my porfolio. The thing is it needs to be used in a effective useful manner as you tend to see a lot of sites just using it for the heck! So just for the heck, I’ve created a 3D business card… I’ve got a lot to learn, but it’s fun!

To give my blog a tiny bit of personality I decided I would create a ‘portmanteau‘ word and join ‘Chop’ and ‘Blog’ together creating ‘Chob’. I think it works in a number of ways anyway, I am trying to impress my brother as he is a linguist.
Next I decided to create a logo, realistically I didn’t want to think to much about it.. It’s JUST a blog. So I punched out this. I chose ‘a’, as it’s a little easier to work with being more ‘Web 2′ orientated. Do I sound like a knob?
